Peninsula Spanish Re(Vive)al

Originally built in 1992, this 4000 square foot home had good bones, but the interiors were unremarkable and had no "soul." A series of recent haphazard remodels felt very heavy-handed and outdated. One of the client's primary goals was to create a more Spanish/Mediterranean-style home to reflect this rich history of the neighborhood. A thorough internet search (and eventually Yelp!) finally led the homeowners to KMD. We found inspiration for the project on trips to Santa Barbara, particularly from a house built in the 1930s based on an Italian Farmhouse. With this project as inspiration, the team clicked immediately with the common goal of bringing the home back to its Revival roots that the area is known for. Every surface inside and out was remodeled, designed and specified by KMD.
